List of resources:
“Top Tips for Using a Hundred Square”. Hundred squares have many different uses in mathematics. As well as learning to count to one hundred, children can learn to add, subtract, multiply and find number patterns. Find out more about how this resource can help with maths from our useful information sheet.
“Top Tips for Using a Multiplication Square”. Children are expected to know all their times tables up to 12×12 by the end of year 4. I’ve taught many maths lessons where children claim to “know” their times tables, only to find they are counting on their fingers. During maths tests this really slows them down so they need to know multiplication facts off-by-heart. Our Top Tips sheet tells you how using a multiplication square can help children spot patterns to help them with their recall of facts.
